"Love this model being featured on your flyer. As a sufferer of vitiligo it's refreshing to see myself reflected without IT being THE issue x"

Mwila has worked in the third sector for over seven years and has significant experience of designing and delivering government-funded training programmes to boost youth employment, social mixing and community engagement. She is currently working with education charity Future First; designing and delivering careers based programmes to promote social mobility amongst students from state school backgrounds.

Mwila is co-founder of the social enterprise Right Roads. Right Roads' vision is that all young people have access to opportunities, information, advice and guidance that enable them to make responsible and informed decisions about the direction their life takes.

Mwila's role at Right Roads is to develop and implement new programmes. Since 2012 Right Roads has served the communities of Southwark and Lambeth through the delivery of life skills in Youth Offending Institutions and schools.

In October 2015 Mwila launched the  'Success Looks Like You' pilot programme. The purpose of the programme is to provide black students with careers advice and inspiration through the success, stories and experiences of black real models, working in different sectors, studying a range of courses or running their own businesses.

Success Looks Like you aims to introduce students to these real-models in three ways:

1.     Three-way Online Mentoring: mentoring that involves the young person, the mentor and a guardian on some occasions;

2.     Educational and Networking Events;

3.     Social Capital Workshops.

Through these interventions we aim to reduce the impact of negative localised identities and stereotypes on attainment and self-perception.  Mwila aims to rollout the programme this year, following a successful pilot event in October 2015.
